About MeHello! I'm Daniel Wymark and this is my landing page. I'm a Software Engineer at Celestron (we make telescopes!). If I'm not tucked away in the attic of Celestron HQ building the next generation of consumer astronomy equipment, you can find me playing with my lovely son (soon to be 2 years old at time of writing!) As an undergraduate, I let my interests guide my studies. I never really settled down in one department. In fact, I probably spent more time wandering around the library than I did on actual schoolwork. Nonetheless, I graduated from UCLA in 2017 with a degree in Linguistics and Mathematics. Current WorkI write embedded software for controlling and interacting with telescopes and telescope accessories. I am particularly proud of the role I played in contributing to the control software for the Celestron Origin, our all-in-one astrophotography kit with RASA optics. My role also involves developing QA software for a wide variety of our products. Often this means I spend more time in tunnels taking pictures of artificial stars than I do under the sky!
